π 1864 β Foundation
Government College Lahore was established with just 9 students and 3 professors in the Haveli of Raja Dhyan Singh. This marked the beginning of one of South Asiaβs greatest educational institutions.

The College moved to its current Gothic-style red-brick campus on The Mall, designed by Sir Ganga Ram, becoming a landmark of Lahore.
π 1882 β University Affiliation
Affiliated with University of the Punjab, GC became a hub for higher learning and academic excellence.

New departments, research societies, and cultural forums were established, cementing GC as a center for literature, debate, and science.

Students became proudly known as βRavians,β inspired by the River Ravi flowing near the College, symbolizing identity, energy, and continuity.

Government College was upgraded to Government College University (GCU), broadening its scope with new faculties, research programs, and international collaborations.
